The vision of First Assembly of God is simple and every member should know it.
Winning Souls and Making Disciples is the heartbeat of everything we do. Every member should be involved in evangelism and disciplemaking.
With this vision in our hearts the Goal is to make every believer a leader. We believe that every man, woman , and child can lead someone. So it is imperative that we encourage every person that considers themself a member of First Assembly of God to be involved in leadership. Many people have said that they can't lead a Life Group; they don't feel comfortable doing this. However, we train everyone who is willing and obedient to be an effective and confident leader of a Life Group.
That statement leads to the process by which we get the vision and goal accomplished. The process involves four steps: Win, Consolidate, Disciple, and Send.
Winning souls to Christ in Matthew 28:19-20 is the last command that the Lord gave to the disciples. It is also our commandment. We call this the Great Commission.
Consolidation is the next step in the process, and it is simply the care and attention we give to a new convert to insure that the character of Jesus Christ is formed in them. This involves the Phone calls, the Visits, the Pre-Encounter classses and the Encounter Retreat Weekend as well as the Post-Encounter classes.
Then we turn to Discipling, where we "take this new convert to School". We call this our School of Leaders, which consists of three levels and prepares every student to lead a Life Group that will eventually turn into a "12".
The last step in the process is Sending. As leaders are formed and our members catch the vision and start to actually live the vision, we see growth and multiplication. Life Group leaders will move toward getting all of their members trained, just like they were; consequently reproducing themselves. Sending out their Life Group members to become Life Group leaders is the ultimate goal we are trying to achieve (every believer a leader).
